Filipi Barbosa is an award-winning Creative Director, Filmmaker, Educator, and Researcher whose work bridges storytelling, emerging technologies, visual culture, and human development.

Originally from Brazil and currently based in North America, he has spent more than a decade leading multidisciplinary projects across film, animation, immersive media, education, fashion, and digital communication. His professional experience spans collaborations with global brands, cultural institutions, universities, and creative organizations, developing projects that connect artistic excellence with meaningful audience engagement.

As a creative leader, Filipi specializes in transforming complex ideas into compelling visual experiences. His work combines cinematic storytelling, design thinking, animation, interactive media, and strategic communication to create projects that resonate across cultures and platforms. His films, exhibitions, and creative initiatives have been presented internationally across four continents, earning recognition for their innovation and social impact.

Alongside his creative practice, Filipi maintains an active academic and research profile focused on animation, documentary, immersive media, communication, and learning. Drawing from extensive teaching experience with students ranging from early childhood to higher education and professional development programs, he develops educational approaches that connect media literacy, critical thinking, creativity, and contemporary culture.

His current research and creative work explore how emerging technologies [including XR, interactive media, and new forms of visual storytelling] can expand the ways people learn, communicate, remember, and engage with the world around them.

Filipi holds a BA in Communication, an MFA in Film, and an MA in Education, Art & Language.
